Donald Trump tried to pay E. Jean Carroll the $ 83 million she won in court after Trump had spent her years. It wasn’t enough to be Trump A rated rapist. He continued to tackle Carroll and pick up losses in court.
Now he tries to pay and wants the taxpayers to pay the bill for his appeal by having the DOJ represent him in court.
ABC News reported that the Court of Appeal told Trump No:
US taxpayers will not pay for the continuous appeal of the defamation of President Donald Trump, $ 83 million, a federal court of appeal established on Wednesday.
A panel of judges on the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday denied Trump’s request to have lawyers from the Ministry of Justice pleaded in his profession by columnist E. Jean Carroll’s defeat against Trump.
Trump tried to make the absurd argument through the Doj Defaming E. Jean Carroll was part of the scope of his duties as president. The reasoning was that Trump charged Carroll during a speech he gave as president.
According to Trump, everything he does as president falls under the scope of the official tasks, and the taxpayers must be on the hook for the costs.
The decision of the Court of Appeal is important outside the Carroll case because it is an example of the courts that make a distinction that some things a president does are not official acts.
The pronunciation of the presidential immunity of the Supreme Court was overly broad, but it left room for interpretation. The question of what an official presidential law is is not fully defined, and at least the country now understands that defamation is not considered an official presidential law.
