Under the Constitution of the United States, We The People have the most crucial sovereign power: controlling our borders and population. Through our elected members of Congress, we decide who can come to America – and who must go. We set our national immigration policy decades ago through our elections and our subsequent federal immigration laws. In the last election, we gave President Donald Trump a broad electoral mandate—including a majority in Congress—affirming his constitutional and statutory duties to expel illegal aliens from America en masse—starting with the most dangerous criminals among them.
For months after Trump’s Inauguration Day, Democratic politicians, prosecutors, lawyers, judges and other activists have conspired to thwart the will of American voters through Democratic judicial sabotage. After a series of legal losses at the Supreme Court, these desperate Democratic operatives are now turning to violence. Democrats openly encourage their agitators to obstruct — and even attack — federal agents in the line of duty. This is especially true in Minnesota, after brave independent journalist Nick Shirley exposed billions in alleged fraud by the Somali community in Minneapolis, a key political constituency for Minnesota’s Democratic politicians. What’s a great way to distract from the biggest scandal in Minnesota history? Riots, of course, caused by the same Democratic politicians from Minnesota who profit from the billions in the Somali fraud schemes.

After days of Democratic-fueled riots, President Trump and Minnesota Governor Tim W.alz received a phone call on Monday. Trump described it as “very good” and Walz expressed a desire to “work together.” This détente may be short-lived, as left-wing agitators have now turned against Walz and focused their protests on his office. Either way, ICE’s withdrawal from Minneapolis would be a disaster and cannot happen.
Emboldened by the inflammatory rhetoric of insurgents like Walz, who has described his state as “at war” with the federal government, leftists have decided they have the freedom to confront and attack ICE officers without repercussions — including, last weekend, biting off a federal agent’s finger. In the ensuing battle, several leftists were killed. The latest is Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old anti-ICE agitator who was shot when he resisted officers’ attempts to take his gun.
JONATHAN TURLEY: DEMOCRATIC POLITICIANS RISE LIVES WITH Reckless Anti-Ice Rhetoric
Leftists have tried and failed impotently to legally prevent President Trump from fulfilling his campaign promises of a secure border and mass deportations. With no options left, they have resorted to violence. The last time Democratic-led states took up arms en masse to oppose the Constitution’s supremacy clause, nearly 400,000 red-blooded Americans were killed to restore order. But even after the Civil War, America experienced state insubordination many times.
In 1957, President Dwight Eisenhower was forced to command the Arkansas National Guard after segregationist Democratic Gov. Orval Faubus mobilized state troopers to prevent the integration of Little Rock Central High School. In the 1960s, Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson both invoked the Insurrection Act of 1807 to quell violent anti-civil rights riots.

Immigration falls entirely within the federal domain. More than a decade ago, Obama’s Justice Department successfully sued Arizona for attempting to independently enforce federal immigration law. Now ICE is in Minneapolis under this nuclear power. Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Johnson did not yield to threats and violence from segregationist states angry about the federal government’s enforcement of federal law. They stood their ground, even deploying the military and federalizing the National Guard when necessary to restore order and maintain the rule of law.
TRUMP WARNS MINNEAPOLIS MAYOR THAT HE’S ‘PLAYING WITH FIRE’ AFTER IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT TALKS
President Trump faces similar insurgent challenges. Last weekend, Walz referenced Anne Frank when he denigrated ICE. He and other left-wingers have made the disgusting claim that ICE “kidnapped” a five-year-old child after agents pulled the child to safety when his father abandoned him while fleeing arrest. (Strangely, Walz remained silent when the inept Biden administration lost 300,000 children, many to sex slavery, brought illegally to the United States.)

ICE is not the problem in Minneapolis. Left violence does. Florida and Texas each have many more people and illegals than Minnesota. We don’t hear about tumult in those states for one reason: excellent state leadership. Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis respect the Constitution, including the law enforcement authority of ICE. These governors don’t use references to the Holocaust, and they don’t tell the good men and women of federal law enforcement to leave their cities — in stark contrast to Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey. Abbott and DeSantis do not defend the storming of churches by anti-ICE maniacs – in stark contrast to Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison. These governors are working with the federal government to solve the existential crisis that dementia-addicted Joe Biden created when he allowed millions of illegal aliens to flood into our country.
Our nation is experiencing an immigration crisis thanks to the left’s open borders policy. Minneapolis is experiencing a crisis of violence thanks to the demented and insurgent rhetoric of pathetic state and local leaders. Giving in to the demands of these seditious conspirators will not abate the crisis; it will make it worse. Spoiled children often think that they can get anything they want if they throw a tantrum loud enough. President Trump, in keeping with one of his favorite 2016 campaign songs, needs to remind these rioters that “You can’t always get what you want.”

President Trump must follow the courageous example of Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson. We’ll soon find out if Walz’s sudden cooperation is a genuine attempt to de-escalate – or if Walz is resuming his role as a modern-day Confederate governor. If Republicans give in to this defiant and seditious behavior, they will send an unequivocal message to every purple-haired SSRI addict in the country: domestic terrorism works. Caving will incite more radical left violence across the country. If leftists learn that they can use force to force ICE to withdraw from Minneapolis, they will employ the same strategy across America.
