The war against Iran is absolute chaos. Nobody knows what’s going on. Trump is swinging wildly between optimism and claims that the war will end soon, or threats to resume bombings and escalate the war.
Trump doesn’t even seem to know where his vice president is or whether he will participate in the negotiations.
Democrats see a big opening because the war is deeply unpopular with the American people, and Republicans are growing fearful that they will be destroyed in the midterm elections due to high prices, inflation, the war and gas prices.
Republicans know that by remaining loyal to Trump, they face almost certain defeat in November. Yet they still support Trump’s scattered war policies.
The Democrats in the Senate are increasing the pressure on Trump by forcing him the Senate must vote every week on a war powers resolution that would force Trump to end the war.
Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) has announced that she will force the Senate to vote on a war powers resolution on Tuesday to end Trump’s war in Iran.
Baldwin is part of a group of Democratic senators working to make Republicans public again and again about their support for Trump’s unpopular war.
