The army of Israel announced on Saturday that it “will promote the preparation for the implementation of the first phase of the Trump plan” for the release of hostages from the Gaza Strip.
The development comes after Hamas said on Friday that it matched to release all Israeli hostages, death or alive, as part of President Donald Trump’s peace proposal. Trump later posted a video of the Oval Office of the White House and said he is still waiting for the last word, but that he believes that he is “very close” to reach a peace agreement.
“The Chief of the General Staff has convened a special situation rating in the light of recent developments. In accordance with the guidelines of the political echelon, the chief of the General Staff [was] Instructions to promote the preparation for the implementation of the first phase of the Trump plan for the release of the hostages, “Israel Defense Forces has been posted on X.

An officer told The Associated Press that Israeli troops have now moved to a alone-defensive position in the Gaza Strip and will not actively strike. The official also said that no IDF assets were removed from the region.
“I appreciate that Israel has temporarily stopped the bombing to give the hostages release and peace agreement a chance to be completed. Hamas must move quickly, or else all bets are disabled,” Trump wrote on the Social Truth on Saturday. “I will not tolerate a delay, many think it will happen, or a result where Gaza is another threat. Let’s get this done quickly. Everyone will be treated fairly!”

“Bring the hostages free, all, including the bodies of those who are dead, now! An agreement must be reached with Hamas for Sunday evening at six (18) pm, Washington, DC time. Every country has registered!” Trump added. “If this last chance agreement is not reached, hell, as nobody has ever seen before, will break out against Hamas. There will be peace in the middle.”
