Russian President Vladimir Putin was not shy to show the clear contempt for members of the press who asked him questions about the high-stakes Summit in Alaska.
For President Donald Trump, such media supervision was nothing special, but Putin seemed to make it clear that he was unhappy with the display. While reporters tried to attract the attention of the leaders, Putin – a former Soviet KGB -Inlay Officer – seemed to be visibly irritated.

Trump, Putin Wrap ‘Extremely productive’ top but ‘not there’ at the end of the war
On the way to the top, Trump was confronted with pressure from leaders at home and abroad to close a deal with Putin and to end the hostilities. Even former Trump rival Hillary Clinton recognized the gravity of the moment and said she would nominate Trump for a Nobel Prize for Peace if he stopped -fires in Ukraine.
Despite a rocky relationship with the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zenskyy, Trump has succeeded in coordinating both him and Putin.
Before Friday’s US-Russia summit, Zenskyy met European leaders and participated in a session of the ‘Coalition of the Willing’, who also attended vice-president JD Vance. Moreover, Trump almost met on Wednesday with European leaders to prepare for the crucial conversations.

Although Putin and Trump did not reach a deal on Friday, the meeting was generally seen as a successful step forward.
European leaders praised Trump A joint statement Signed by French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and others.
“Leaders welcomed the efforts of President Trump to put the murder in Ukraine, to end the Russian war war and to reach just and lasting peace,” said the statement. The leaders also repeated their position that “Ukraine IronClad protection guarantees must have to effectively defend his sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

Zenskyy will meet Trump on Monday in Washington, DC. He said in a message about X that he and Trump “will discuss all the details with regard to ending the murder and war.”
Trump and Zenskyy – who were not invited to the Alaska -TOP – have indicated the willingness for a trilateral meeting with Putin. But Putin has shown no movement in the direction of such conversations.
On Saturday, Zenskyy said that he encouraged Trump to strengthen sanctions as Putin refuses to join a trilateral meeting, which would have the earlier warning from Trump in imitation of “very serious” economic consequences if it derailed the peace process.
