Former NFL commentator Erin Andrews said this week that she is trying in vitro fertilization again to try to have another baby. (Watch the video below.)
The Fox sports reporter, who turns 48 next month, acknowledged the low odds of success but told her “Calm Down” co-host Charissa Thompson that she was determined.
Andrews noted that she recently missed a CO2 laser skin treatment “to try IVF again,” but “it didn’t work.”
“Here’s my whole thing,” Andrews explained. “I’m crazy, and I’m seeing a doctor who said, ‘Listen, we’ll call when it’s time.’ But I’m psychotic right now. I just feel like I believe my body can do it, even though I know my age isn’t, as history says, it’s not great with egg production and the viability of your eggs.
“There’s just something in me that makes me think, ‘Wait, look, see how I do it,’” she continued. “It’s like a weird addiction I have. ‘I’ll show you.'”
Thompson retreated to a football metaphor, noting that her friend was in “the fourth quarter” with two minutes left. Andrews joked that it was more like “OT,” short for overtime.
Thompson pointed out that her tenacity led to Andrews and her husband, former NHL star Jarret Stoll, welcoming son Mack, who was born via surrogate in 2023. “You’ve already won,” Thompson said.
According to People, Andrews was treated for cervical cancer in 2016 and married Stoll the following year when she already had frozen embryos with him.
After what the magazine called a “9-year fertility journey,” Mack arrived.
Thompson told Andrews on Tuesday that when it becomes clear that it’s time to stop trying, “then I know you’ll be at peace with it because you’ve tried everything” and “won’t beat yourself up.”
