The “Coalition of the Willing” is meant to form a single front before Zenskyy faces Trump. In their August 13 Joint statementMacron, starmer and Merz said that the coalition would reject “territorial concessions under force” and insist on binding security guarantees for Ukraine.
AXIOS reported The conditions of Putin would shift much more country to Russia than Ukraine would win. He also drove China as a possible guarantee, a movement that would push NATO aside. European countries see that as a direct challenge for their security system.
President Trump said that European leaders are looking at him to stimulate results.
“There are many European leaders, but they rely on me – rely on me. If it wasn’t for me, this thing would never be resolved until the last person is dead,” Trump said last week during a press conference.

Trump has told Zenskyy and other leaders that he wants to go quickly in the direction of a three-way meeting with Putin on August 22, according to AXIOS reporting. The goal, he said, is to get all parties in the same room and test whether a breakthrough is possible. Such a top would mark the first direct encounter between the three men since the war began.
