Dollar General has published a voluntary recall from Instant Coffee in its stores throughout the country about reports of potential glass pollution.
The company announced the recall on Monday after a customer had warned employees about the presence of glass pieces in their coffee grounds. The recall was carried out with the knowledge of the Food & Drug Administration.
The recalled products include 8-essence clover valley instant coffee packages with certain party numbers and best dates.

Spectures products have a package UPC of 876941004069. The products include party numbers L-5163 and L-5165 with a best on date of December 13, as well as L-5165 with a best by date of December 14.
The product was sold in every state except Alaska and Hawaii.
No diseases or injuries have been reported in connection with the recall, the company said.

“Taking glass fragments can cause consumer injury, and these injuries can cause damage to teeth, cracking the mouth and throat or perforation of the gut,” the company said in its announcement.
Customers who have purchased this product are encouraged to throw it away and contact Dollar General to request a refund.

Dollar General said that it is actively investigating the source of glass infection and apologized for the inconvenience.
