Entrepreneur and social media tycoon Ben Saffer responds to the mayor of NYC Zohran Mamdani, what it means for the Jewish community and how he became a social media personality.
Concern about anti -Semitism continues to grow in New York City, because some residents say they are starting to wonder if the largest city in the nation is a safe place for them. A star of social media says that the victory of Zohran Mamdani in the Democratic mayors primarily only escalated those fears in the Jewish community.
“We are very scared,” said Ben Soffer, an influencer of social media and entrepreneur. “I never thought I should leave because I was afraid to be openly Jewish here.”
Soffer, who has lived in New York City all his life, said he was considering going over increasing anti -Semitism in the area. He noted that his primary care is now Zohran Mamdani who may become the next mayor of the city.
Mamdani, a 33-year-old state assembly from Queens, is a self-described socialist who defeated the former government Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic mayors Primary. Since his elections have been upset, Mamdani has put pressure to “condemn the Intifada” the expression, a slogan that was generally understood to wear anti-Jewish undertone.

The assemblyer has repeatedly bypassed the problem. Other political leaders, including minority leader Hakeem Jeffries, have noticed that Mamdani must clarify his position on the sentence.
EJ Antoni warns NYC of the ‘economic illiterate’ policy of Mamdani
“Mamdani and his voters turn from Zionism into a blemish,” Soffer said on “Varney & Co.” Monday. “It is not a blemish to be proud to be Jewish and to feel that Jews are entitled to a home country.”
Mamdani was asked NBC’s “Meet the Press” Whether he condemns the controversial sense on Sunday. He replied by saying that it is not a language he uses personally, but has not published a clear conviction.
“It’s language, I understand, there are worries about it,” said Mamdani. “What I will do is show my vision for the city because of my words and my actions.”

Rep. Mike Lawler, RN.Y., discusses the mayor of New York City Zohran Mamdani’s primary victory and more about ‘Varney & Co.’
He further claimed that the mayor should not have the power of the police. Soffer says that that kind of ambiguity sends a dangerous message in the midst of recent anti-Jewish tensions.

“When it comes to Jews, for whatever reason, people turn a blind eye,” he said. ‘They don’t see it [hate] In the same way, because Jews are seen as this white, rich people. And it’s just not true. “
Soffer argues that attempts to separate anti-zionism from anti-Semitism do not work and that both are ultimately hateful speech.
Critics say that the socialist mayor runner threatens the economic capital of NYC
“They hide behind that anti-Semitism and anti-zionism are not the same. And they are,” he said. “I say to those people,” What are you, crazy? “
The Mamdani campaign has received support from younger, more progressive voters. As the official Democratic nominee, he will be confronted in November opposite the Republican Curtis Sliwa and sitting mayor Eric Adams in the general elections, as well as his defeated opponent Andrew Cuomo, who has been chosen to stay on the mood as an independent vote.
