The most astonishing, but certainly not the most disgusting, thing about Democratic California Rep. Eric Swalwall’s revelations of sexual impropriety is that this man somehow thought he could run for governor despite the horrific accusations hanging over him.
The most obvious answer to why the TikTok video-producing congressman thought he could pull this off is that he believed the Democratic Party and its media allies would protect him. To be honest, he was right about that, until he wasn’t.

The fact is that Salwell’s wife abuse has been an open secret in the DC swamp for over a decade. And it’s nothing new: today we read with shock about the sexual antics of men like Ted Kennedy in the 1980s, which went largely unnoticed, but that was before the #MeToo movement.
Today we assume that the media and political parties will pounce on known allegations of sexual abuse. Maybe that would have happened if Swalwell had an R after his name, but it didn’t.
SWALWELL PROSECUTORS DETAIL EXPERIENCES WITH LAWMAKER AFTER HE ANNOUNCES HIS DISCHARGE FROM CONGRESS
As his friends jump like rats out of the sinking USS Swalwell, it’s worth thinking about how many other powerful Democrats have skeletons like his in the closet that the party’s shadowy leadership can call on to destroy them at a moment’s notice.
It is as clear as the summer sun that the timing of Swalwell’s fall from grace was no coincidence. He was leading the polls for the party’s nomination for governor, and Democrats clearly knew that if he faced a Republican candidate in the general election, he might lose.
As with Sleepy Joe Biden, it was former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who donned her black hooded robe and brandished her political sickle to give her former student Swalwell the death call and tell him to drop out.

As with Biden, whose mental decline was obvious to anyone paying attention, Pelosi and her party are pretending to be shocked, just shocked, when they learn of Swalwell’s illicit and allegedly criminal excesses.
But let’s not fool ourselves. Captain Renoult was more shocked to discover the gambling at Rick’s Cafe than Pelosi was to Swalwell’s raging libido.
We’ve known for a long time that the Democratic Party doesn’t let outsiders win big races. Just ask Bernie Sanders, who was stabbed by the establishment in both the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections. But Swalwell is no outsider.

‘HE NEEDS TO GO’: SENATE DEMS PUTS SWALWELL TO REPORT ANNOUNCEMENT
I believe these women and think Swalwell is a creep, but why didn’t they come forward when he was running for president (remember that)? It is clear that this has now been done to clear the ground and block the freak accident that saw Steve Hilton and Chad Bianco emerge from a jungle primary, leaving only two Republicans in the general election.
It’s starting to look like the Democrats have something on everyone, to the point where they can push a button and get rid of it whenever they need to.
This even applies to historical figures at this point. Take legendary workers’ rights icon Caesar Chavez, who was recently fired almost as quickly as Swalwell when Republicans started pointing out that Chavez hated illegal immigration.
ERIC SWALWELL WAS THE STAR OF CABLE NEWS FOR YEARS BEFORE RAPID FALL FROM GRACE
Once again the liberal leadership activated the ejection seat and suddenly Chavez went from hero to a situation where his name was scrubbed from buildings.
Admiring pundits have long celebrated Pelosi’s ability to govern her caucus, but now we have to wonder how much of that coercive power was actually a promise to keep secrets.
President Donald Trump often worries that controlling Republicans is like herding cats, while Democrats always stick together. But what if the glue is the common fear of scandals being exposed?

One thing’s for sure: There are a lot of nervous Democrats on Capitol Hill this week, especially since gossip network TMZ has opened a DC office, whose spies now lurk from Capital Grille to Butterworth’s looking for debauched lawmakers.

No one knows what other shoes will fall here, but Swalwell’s good friend, Sen. Ruben Gallego, looked like a teenager caught shoplifting at Walmart when he faced reporters Tuesday.

Apparently the senator had heard rumors that his best friend was “flirty” but nothing more, and if you believe that, then I have a bullet train in California to sell you.
A famous radio drama from the 1930s had the tagline: “Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!” For elected Democrats, it’s not the Shadow they have to worry about. It’s the party that knows, and it’s the party that can end their career as quickly as they made it.
