President Donald Trump said the US-Iran war is “very close” to an end as hostilities ease amid a two-week ceasefire agreement.
The president’s comments come as peace talks between US officials and Iranian negotiators are expected to resume next Thursday stalled weekend talks in Pakistan.
On Monday, Trump has one naval blockade of all Iranians ports, marking a new intensification of the conflict after the US agreed last week to stop bombing Iran.

Despite Trump saying the war is coming to an end, he also said the US is not done yet.
‘If I were to raise the stakes now, it would take twenty years to rebuild that country. And we’re not done yet,” he said. “We’ll see what happens. I think they would really like to make a deal.”
Vice President J.D. Vance and senior White House officials were detained negotiations with Iranian officials over the weekend in Pakistan over Tehran’s nuclear program and enrichment plans.

The talks reportedly did not produce a breakthrough, although Vance did say on Monday:a lot of progress” has been made and that Iran has a decisive hand in what comes next in the conflict.

“The ball is very much in their court,” Vance told “Special Report.” “You’re asking what happens next, I guess the Iranians will determine what happens next.”
The war against Iran began on February 28 when the US and Israel launched coordinated attacks against Iran, killing the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and effectively disfiguring the Islamic regime.

President Trump has boasted about the degradation of Iran’s leadership and military capabilities, repeatedly stating that U.S. forces have “decimated” Tehran’s military capabilities.
Thirteen American service members and thousands across the Middle East have been killed in the conflict.

Trump justified his entry into the Middle East conflict by telling ‘Mornings with Maria’ that it was necessary disarm Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
“I had to dodge because if I didn’t, you would have Iran with a nuclear weapon,” Trump said. “And if they had a nuclear weapon, you’d be calling everyone there ‘sir,’ and you don’t want to do that.”
