The USS Ford, which deployed in June 2025, was sent from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean last fall as the government built up a significant military presence ahead of the operation to attack Venezuela and capture its president, Nicolás Maduro.

On Thursday, Trump warned Iran that failure to reach a deal with the US over its nuclear program would be “very traumatic” after the two countries held indirect talks in Oman last week.
“It has to happen quickly. They have to agree very quickly,” he told reporters.
