Instead, Donald Trump has found a new group of enemies to fixate on.
A group of House and Senate Democrats who have served in the military have drawn Trump’s ire by reminding troops that they must put the Constitution first and not follow illegal orders from the president.
The fact that some members of Congress have undermined Trump’s delusions of unlimited power has left the president in disarray.
Trump has ordered the FBI Counterterrorism Division to investigate the other Democratic members of Congress who appeared in the illegal order video.
Senator Slotkin (D-MI) posted on X:
Last night, the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division appeared to be investigating me over a video that President Trump didn’t like.
The president ordering the FBI to attack us is exactly why we made this video in the first place. He believes in arming the federal government against his perceived enemies and does not believe any laws apply to him or his cabinet. He uses legal harassment as an intimidation tactic to keep people from speaking out.
This isn’t just about a video. This is not the America I know, and I will not let this next step by the FBI stop me from standing up for my country and our Constitution.
Senator Mark Kelly has also received support from the FBI, as has every House Democrat who appeared in the video.
