Back this week from November 28 to 30, The Emirates Dubai 7s is the largest and oldest sports and entertainment festival in the Middle East, attracting more than 80,000 people to the Sevens Stadium every year.
What started as a rugby tournament in 1970 has grown into a three-day celebration packed with invitational competitions in rugby, korfball, cricket, padel and fitness.
And moreover if it? Headlining music sets for 2025 include international stars such as Tinie Tempah, Sean Paul, Shaggy and FISHER, meaning there’s something for everyone.
With new sustainability efforts being rolled out, the Emirates Dubai 7s is getting better every year. Over the past three years, the company has powered much of the event using 12.4 million kWh of clean energy from its 4,500 solar panels. By 2025, the festival is reducing its carbon footprint by providing all athletes with reusable water bottles, and free water refill stations will be placed throughout the site to reduce single-use plastic use too!

For the golf enthusiasts, The Hero Dubai Desert classic is the only GEO-certified, longest-running and most iconic golf tournament in the Middle East. Dubbed ‘the Major of the Middle East’, it has welcomed the world’s best players to Emirates Golf Club since 1989, including Tiger Woods and Ernie Els, who provided some of the sport’s most talked-about moments.
The 2026 edition (January 22 to 25) is particularly meaningful as it marks 20 years since Rory McIlroy made his debut at the event as a 16-year-old amateur in 2006. Now a Grand Slam champion and the event’s most decorated player, he returns in search of a record fifth Dallah Trophy.
But that’s what it is not just about golf. Every year, the Emirates Golf Club transforms into a social hub for four days. Across the lane, guests can explore gourmet hospitality spaces offering premium dining and craft drinks. There will also be live music, arts and crafts, and culinary pop-up concepts from some of Dubai’s best-loved eateries.
Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships

Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships
Since 1993, the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships have transformed the city into a vibrant global tennis hotspot, attracting sell-out crowds and the sport’s biggest superstars to the iconic Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium. As the tournament gears up for 2026, the tournament returns from February 15 to 28 with a strong schedule: a WTA 1000 women’s event followed by the ATP 500 men’s showdown.
Long hailed as one of the sport’s must-see stops, the tournament has earned its reputation for spotlighting both legends and the next wave of tennis greatness. Previous champions include Serena and Venus Williams, Martina Hingis, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, and this year’s line-up promises even more star power with world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, six-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek and defending Dubai champion Mirra Andreeva all expected to take the court.
The Dubai World Cup

Bringing the world’s best horses, jockeys and trainers to Meydan Racecourse, The Dubai World Cup is the crown jewel of global horse racing. The 2026 edition marks the 30th anniversary of the event, a milestone for a race day that has become synonymous with prestige.
Launched in 1996, the event has produced a host of iconic horse racing moments. From Cigar’s first win to Thunder Snow’s historic back-to-back wins, there’s a lot to be excited about.
But the racing is just the beginning. The Dubai World Cup is legendary for pushing the boundaries of live entertainment and regularly setting Guinness World Records with its choreographed drone shows, cutting-edge laser displays and huge LED-powered finals. Framed by the architectural drama of Meydan’s 80,000-seat grandstand, the entire evening feels more like a world’s fair in motion than a traditional race meeting. Even global icons like Elton John, Jennifer Lopez and Janet Jackson have delivered breathtaking performances to match the spectacle.
Three decades later, it remains sport’s most dazzling night – and one of Dubai’s ultimate showcases of global sporting excellence.
And much more
Dubai’s events calendar continues to rise, with global showcases such as the Dubai Premier Padel P1 tournament attracting 15,000 fans every November and one of the fast-growing T100 triathlon series, the Dubai T100, involving more than 8,000 athletes and residents. Add in wakesurfing and SailGP, world-class sailing along the coastline, and it’s clear that the emirate has become a playground for elite sport and adrenaline adventures.
Sports, health and fitness are now part of the city’s DNA, especially since the launch of the Dubai Fitness Challenge in 2017. Every November, the world’s first city-wide fitness initiative challenges schools, businesses and communities to commit to 30 minutes of exercise for 30 days, reaching a record 2.7 million people by 2024.
Whether you enjoy golf, rugby, tennis or horse racing, Dubai turns every event into something special. It’s the kind of place where sports become memories, making Dubai a must-visit sports destination.
