The mainstream media tends to display its ignorance and how little attention it pays to much of what is happening within the government when it provides America with a response that seems out of step with the events themselves.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s break with Trump was a long time coming. Greene has been telegraphing the break with Trump in the mainstream media for weeks because it was made so clear that the only element that was a surprise about Greene’s resignation was the timing.
Republicans in Congress all seem terrified of becoming the next Liz Cheney. None of them want to take on Trump and then gain precedence and lose. Usually, Republicans retire or resign and then criticize Trump.
Greene did not first announce her resignation and then criticize Trump. She criticized Trump and then resigned when she was threatened with a primary.
Representative Greene’s logic made sense. She didn’t want to fight to keep her seat and then spend two years in the minority because she believes Democrats will win back the House of Representatives.
Greene will not be the House Republican who comes to the same conclusion and heads for the exit in the coming months.
However, Rep. Greene’s handling of Trump’s criticism did not sit well with Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX).
Crockett, when asked about Greene’s firing, said on CNN’s State Of The Union:
You know what? To be honest, I thought, you’ve got to be kidding me. You stand on the other side of the president for a week and you can’t stand the heat. Imagine what it’s like to be in my shoes and not only be on the other side of him, but to have people like her constantly fanning the flames of hatred, and imagine what those threats look like.
