Amazon announced the launch of Amazon Grocery on Wednesday, a new brand private label that merges popular items from Amazon Fresh and Happy Belly in one collection of “Grocery Essentials”.
The new brand of the retail giant has more than 1,000 supermarket items, ranging from milk and olive oil to producing, meat and seafood, with most products below $ 5. The launch comes “at a time when consumers are particularly price-conscious”, says Jason Buechel, Vice-President of Woldwide Supermarkt.
“With Amazon Grocery we simplify how customers discover and shop our extensive selection of food labels while retaining the quality and value that our customers expect and earn,” Buechel said in a statement.
