NATO gave Russia a strict warning before the start of Wednesday about breaking the Polish airspace with drones intended for Ukraine.
“Last night, countless drones from Russia violated the Polish airspace. Our air defenses were activated and successfully ensured the defense of the NATO territory, as they were designed to do,” said NATO-Secretary-General Mark Rutte on Wednesday. “The North Atlantic Council met this morning and discussed the situation in the Light of Poland’s request for consultation on the basis of Article IV of the Washington Convention. Allies expressed solidarity with Poland and approved the reckless behavior of Russia.”
He added that NATO fellow people ‘were determined to support their support for Ukraine, “who have been fighting against Russia for more than three years.

NATO spokesperson Allison Hart said that the 32 national envoys of the Alliance will discuss the case during a planned meeting, according to the Associated Press.
“This is the first time that NATO aircraft have entered into potential threats in the Allied airspace,” said NATO spokesperson Colonel Martin O’Donnell, according to the AP.

Poland was not alone in defending his citizens against the Russian attack that was intended for Ukraine. Other NATO countries participated in the defense of the Warsaw airspace, with various leaders of the Allied countries who sentenced the attack.
Although Rutte did not say that the Netherlands participated in the fight, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof confirmed the Dutch F-35 fighter jets who were stationed under NATO in Poland, also provided support during the air strikes.

The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zenskyy explained the timeline of the attack in a post on X. He said that the first intersection of a Russian drone to Poland was registered at around 12:50 pm Kyiv Time on Wednesday.
“At least two Russian drones that entered Polish Territorium in the night used white -Russian airspace. In total, at least a few dozen Russian drones moved along the border of Ukraine and White -Russia and over the western regions of Ukraine, goals approaching Ukrainian territory and, apparent,” ” Said Zenskyy.

He added that no less than two dozen Russian drones may have entered Polish airspace, although Ukraine worked to verify the number.
“Ukraine is ready to expand our collaboration with partners for reliable air protection.
