A member of the Cheerleading Stunt Team of the University of Kentucky has been accused of several crimes after the police say she had found her newborn child dead in a cupboard.
Laken Snelling, a junior from White Pine, Tennessee, was accused on Sunday of abuse of a corpse, messing with physical evidence and hiding the birth of a baby, Lexington Police said in a release.
According to the police statement, officers arrived at the address of Snelling last Wednesday, where a non -traveling baby had been reported. The baby was declared dead on the spot.
The coroner will determine the cause of death, the police added.
The arrest quoted that the “baby was in a towel in a black garbage bag”, in a cupboard, NBC partner Lex18 reported.
Cops said Snelling, 21, admitted that according to the station they have the fact and tried to hide the fact.
