With the deadline to put an end to the minimis exemption that makes the tax-free shipping of packages to the US possible, the post service of Mexico, Correos de México, has pauted the parcel delivery to his northern neighbor.
A Ministry of Interior Security of 31 July press release explained that “under the minimis Treatment, imported goods that are valued at or less than $ 800 were exempt from tariff rights. “
Due to an executive order issued by President Donald Trump, the Minimis exemption ends on Friday 29 August.

“For this reason, Correos de México will temporarily hang post and package deliveries to the United States from 27 August 2025, while new operational processes are defined,” A rack noted from the Mexican government.
“Mexico continues his dialogue with American authorities and international postal organizations to define mechanisms that make the orderly resumption of services possible, offer users security and are avoided in the delivery of goods,” the statement explained.

“Countries operated this system to flood the American market with cheap goods that undermine American manufacturers and cost American jobs. With this exemption, drug cartels and other criminal organizations could also smuggle drugs and other smuggling where to our country,” noted the statement of July.
