Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday he spoke with President Donald Trump for the second time in two days, calling their talks on the war with Russia, Ukraine’s military capabilities and the energy sector “very productive.”
Zelenskyy wrote in a message on Zelenskyy added that they also discussed “a lot of details” about the energy sector, although he did not elaborate on any topics.
“President Trump is well aware of everything that is happening,” Zelenskyy wrote. “We have agreed to continue our dialogue, and our teams are busy with their preparations.”
Trump’s talks with Zelenskyy come as Moscow continues to attack Ukraine with drones and missiles, wounding at least 20 people in Kiev and causing widespread power outages on Friday. A separate Russian attack in the southeast of the country also killed a child.

Late Saturday and early Sunday, Russia attacked Ukraine’s power grid with the aim of degrading Ukraine’s energy infrastructure before winter.
The latest net attack, similar to what Russia has done annually before winter, came as Moscow expressed “extreme concern” about the possibility that the US could supply Ukraine with Tomahawk cruise missiles.

Trump exerted new influence in the Russia-Ukraine war late last month, allowing Ukraine to use U.S. weapons to strike deep inside Russia, weighing whether to supply Kiev with Tomahawk cruise missiles and promising that Ukraine can take back all its land.

“I think this success for Israel is a success, and of course it sends signals for us and I hope that with such pressure, what President Trump has used in the Middle East to make peace, and I hope he will use the same tools, even more, to apply pressure.” [Russian President Vladimir] Putin must stop his war in Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
