“The sequencing of the steps is important,” she added. “First an unconditional ceasefires with a strong monitoring system and IronClad security guarantees.”
Kallas called for a virtual meeting of EU Ministers of Foreign Affairs – as well as the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, who interviewed the civil servants on “ongoing diplomatic efforts and the battlefield situation” on Monday – after the upcoming Poetin Putin Putin.

While the conversations have dealt with extra sanctions against Russia on Monday, more military aid for Ukraine and more monetary support for Kiev, they also coincided with comments from Trump that made a critical note of Ukrainian President VolodyYyr Zelenskyy.
European leaders still have to respond directly to Trump’s statement prior to his meeting with Putin on Friday, although the comments of Kallas neither the EU nor Ukraine support Trump’s most recent proposal that Ukraine and Russia borders the borders.
“We fully support this war in a way that does not leave a back door open to Russia to come in again and start the aggression again,” she said. “The right of Ukraine to exist if a sovereign nation is attacked, as well as the safety of our European continent.”

Details of Trump’s upcoming meeting with Putin remain relatively unknown, although European officials like to remind both leaders of the need to involve them and Kiev in high -level conversations.
Kallas has remained steadfast in its determination that all negotiations on Ukraine should include Europe, since the continent is staring his most important threat since the Second World War.
But it is not only the involvement of Europe in security negotiations that EU leaders want to remind Trump, but the territorial sovereignty of Ukraine.
“While we are working on a sustainable and just peace, international law is clear: all temporarily occupied areas belong to Ukraine,” said Kallas. “A sustainable peace also means that aggression cannot be rewarded.”
European leaders from the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Finland and the EU weekend issued a statement that confirmed that “the road to peace in Ukraine cannot be decided without Ukraine.”
Zenskyy risked Trump’s anger and looked to rectify the record on Saturday after the US President had proposed Friday that Ukraine and Russia could “exchange” territory.

“You look at Territorium that has been fought for 3.5 years,” Trump told reporters from the White House in reference to the land that Russia has invaded illegally and occupied in Eastern Ukraine. “We look at that. But we look at exchange. We’re going to get something back.”
Zenskyy replied by confirming that “Ukrainians will not give their country to the occupier.”
“All decisions that were made against us, all decisions that were made without Ukraine – at the same time they are decisions against peace,” he added. “These are dead decisions; they will never work. And what we all need is a real, living peace, one that will respect people.”

“The war goals of Russia are more than just grabbing the territory in Ukraine,” she said. “Russia started this war to destroy Ukraine and Europe’s security.
“A deal may not offer a springboard for further Russian aggression against Ukraine, the Transatlantic Alliance and Europe,” she added.
The German Chancellor Friedrich Merz invited Trump, Zenskyy and NATO -Secretary General Mark Rutte for another virtual meeting on Wednesday with other European leaders prior to Trump’s top discussions, reports that were confirmed on Monday.
Trump repeated his goal on Monday that he will first meet Putin, and then Zenskyy will meet Putin, with or without the American president, to protect a ceasefiring.
