The US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) said on Tuesday that the US military carried out a deadly attack on a ship in the eastern Pacific Ocean, killing three suspected narco-terrorists.
The attack, carried out by Joint Task Force Southern Spear under Commandant General Francis L. Donovan, targeted a vessel operating along known drug trafficking corridors and engaged in drug trafficking.
According to SOUTHCOM, no U.S. military personnel were injured during the operation.
“Intelligence confirmed that the ship was operating along known drug smuggling routes in the Eastern Pacific and was involved in drug smuggling operations,” the command wrote on

SOUTHCOM did not immediately release further information about the deaths.
The US military has carried out numerous attacks on suspected drug smuggling vessels in recent months as part of a broader campaign to dismantle cartel-related smuggling operations.
The announcement comes a day after SOUTHCOM said it carried out a similar attack in the Caribbean on Monday, killing two suspected drug traffickers.

Earlier, on April 24, SOUTHCOM carried out a deadly attack on a suspected drug smuggling vessel in the Eastern Pacific, killing two suspected narco-terrorists.
That strike came less than a week after SOUTHCOM said it carried out an operation in the Caribbean that killed three suspected narco-terrorists.
