President Donald Trump has promised to protect and maintain social security, and I am honored to lead the agency as a commissioner at such a crucial moment. My vision is simple: a social security administration that is easier to access, to respond faster and is better prepared to take on the challenges of tomorrow. That vision is rooted in our dedication to public services and is based on the conviction that the government can and should work for everyone.
Since I took office, I have focused on modernizing operations; invest in our workforce; Eliminating fraud, waste and abuse; And improve how we serve the public, online, by telephone or personally.
Social Security is not a program from the past; It is a promise to future generations.
We have expanded our digital tools to offer more services based on the convenience of people’s houses. We have taken steps to reduce waiting times, improve security and make it easier to navigate our programs. While we ensure that we pay benefits accurately to those who are eligible to receive them.
We have also added support and removes roadblocks for our frontline employees with updated tools, technology and processes, so that they can provide efficient, accurate and compassionate service to the American people every day.
In my first 100 days as a commissioner, SSA has made considerable progress, Improving the customer experience: Reducing the average waiting time on the national 800 number of 30 minutes last year to a few figures last month; Implementing new telephone systems to be treated 90% of the calls via self -service or handy callbacks; Shorten waiting times by 30%; Eliminating 29 hours of weekly downtime Mine Social Security to allow 24/7 online management of benefits; The decrease in waiting times of hearing with a hearing step with 60 days, reaching historical lows; And sending more than 3.1 million payments from a total of $ 17 billion to eligible beneficiaries five months earlier than the schedule under the Social Security Fairness Act.

We have a clear path to reach operational excellence and to offer the best service. Under the leadership of President Trump, I have mapped a new course that strengthens services and safeguard the integrity and efficiency of our systems. We modernize the underlying infrastructure that supports our work, so that the agency not only keeps track of the pace of change, but shows the way in service innovation.

While we celebrate this 90 -year anniversary, we also have to keep our eyes firmly on the future. Social Security is not a program from the past; It is a promise to future generations.
Young Americans who enter the staff today deserve the same sense of safety that their parents and grandparents had. Maintaining that trust requires thoughtful innovation and shared dedication to protect the integrity and solvency of the program.

Ninety years ago, Americans chose to build a safety net that reflects our highest values. Social security is more than a monthly payment. It is a guarantee that we are together.
While we look at the century, President Trump continues to work to ensure that social security is just as strong, effective and sustainable for our children and grandchildren as for the generations for them.
