Streaming Gigantic Netflix could soon add live sporting events to its selection.
Bloomberg reported That Netflix is investigating a potential deal with Major League baseball. It is said that the conversations concern the rights to the annual Home Run Derby, which takes place every summer prior to the MLB All-Star Game.
In recent years, ESPN has kept the temporary employment and streaming rights at the competition, in which some of the best power hitters of the game have the opportunity to win the coveted Home Run Derby Trophy.

Sources that are familiar with the conversations also told Bloomberg that the streaming company established in California may be interested in wearing other baseball programming next to the derby.
ESPN, a subsidiary of the Walt Disney Company, mentioned the cost -saving measures when the network announced its intentions to leave his contract with MLB. The seven -year agreement required that ESPN paid the competition an estimated $ 550 million a year for the rights in 30 games in the regular season. The deal also gave the network the right to the Home Run Derby, the Wildcard Play-Offs and various spring training games, according to Bloomberg.

ESPN may not be ready to fully end his relationship with MLB. A reduced package can be part of the upcoming streaming service of the network, according to the report.
Apple TV+ is another streamer who has an arrangement with MLB. In recent years, “Friday Night Baseball” has made available on Apple TV+ Games for subscribers.
If Netflix lands the Home Run Derby, this would participate in the other live sports offers from the streamer, including the pair of NFL games on Christmas Day and WWE’s Monday Night Raw.
