Skydance Media and Paramount Global announced on Thursday the completion of their long -planned merger of $ 8 billion as the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) continues to investigate CBS news.
The new company is called “Paramount, a Skydance Corporation”, the parent company of various media and entertainment activa, including CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Paramount Plus and an iconic film studio.
Last month, the FCC approved the high deployment merger that approved the new version of Paramount under the control of CEO David Ellison, the son of billionaire Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison.

Ellison now supervises CBS, and despite the approval of the Megadeal, FCC chairman Brendan Carr did not conclude the procedure he previously opened against the network for “news removal” when broadcasting the notorious “60 minutes” interview with the then vice-president Kamala Harris. Every Fall -Out will now land on Ellison and the new leadership of the company.
Paramount Class B shares started trading on Thursday at the Nasdaq -sharing market under the new Ticker symbol “Psky”.
“Today an exciting and crucial moment marks while we are preparing to bring the legacy of Paramount as a Hollywood institution in the future of entertainment. My vision is to honor exceptional stories, while modernizing how we make and deliver content to support the best creative talent in the world,” said a sustainable value for our shareholders, “said a sustainable value in a lasting holders.
“It is really an honor and a privilege to lead this iconic brand in the next chapter,” he continued. “My experience at Skydance and at all production levels has shown me what it takes to bring great stories to life – and how powerful it is when visionary makers are supported by strong leadership and a clear mission.”

Ellison said that the company “remains based on creative excellence, will embrace advanced innovation and continue to deliver the entertainment, news and athlete experiences that make contact with the public worldwide.”
Paramount and CBS came in to arrange the “election interference” of President Trump last month for an amount that is expected to be to the north of $ 30 million, including $ 16 million in advance for the Presidential Library of Trump. The lawsuit, which was more than the same “60 minutes” interview that the FCC was irritated, accused CBS of helping Harris through misleading adaptation prior to the presidential elections.
Insiders in the industry believe that Ellison, who was seen at a UFC event at Trump in April, will strive to eliminate the observed liberal impact at CBS News. He has committed himself to installing an ombudsman at CBS News and eliminating diversity, equity and inclusion (dei) initiatives at Paramount, a Skydance Corporation.
“I write to confirm the elimination of diversity, fairness and inclusion (dei) initiatives that were present at Paramount and to confirm our commitments,” wrote Skydance General Counselor Stephanie Kyoko McKinnon in a letter to Carr last month.

“Skydance, for his part, has no Dei programs today and will not set up such initiatives,” McKinnon continued. “The company strives to ensure that its stories reflect the many target groups and communities that it must reflect in a way that meets non-discrimination requirements and other applicable laws.”
The Skydance director noted that the efforts of the Trump government to eliminate dei -initiatives and describe in detail that Paramount has already eliminated or changed the Dei programs in the company “to ensure that they are consistent with the dedication of the company to be used.
The company has said that the end of the transaction “is of the utmost importance to forge a new path in the entertainment industry, combining its extensive creative library and global distribution network with Skydance’s production expertise and leading technological possibilities.”
