After Rachel Maddow did segments on her MSNBC show talk about Devin Nunes and the Russia scandal, Nunes, who was then a member of the congress, complained Maddow for defamer in 2021.
Instead of doing what so many large media companies and expensive talents did when Donald Trump sued them due to defamation in 2024, Rachel Maddow and NBC/Universal fought the business, and something funny happened.
Maddow and NBC won.
Reuters Reported:
In a 24 -page decision, Castel said that Nunes, an old proponent of US President Donald Trump, did not show that Maddow was aware of an article in July 2020 in Politico that the FBI had received the package.
The judge found no clear and convincing evidence that Maddow had a “high degree of consciousness of probable forgery,” or any evidence that “the permitted political bias of the suspect ensured that the suspect was acting with a reckless neglect of the truth.”
Nunes’ lawyers and Trump -Media did not immediately respond to requests for comments on Monday. Lawyers for NBCUIversal did not immediately respond to similar requests.
There should be nothing unusual about this result. Maddow and NBC did what media companies used to do when they were confronted with fake grid procedures of topics of stories.
They fought against the case.
