Panama’s notorious Darien gorge, once a treacherous corridor for tens of thousands of American migrants, including dangerous criminals, is now almost abandoned in the midst of the aggressive immigration content of President Donald Trump and Panamanic President Jose Raul Mulino’s promise to close the deadly route.
Migrant transitions in the remote 2,600-mijl jungle trek that connects Colombia with Panama-Die officials described as “infamous for exposing migrants, including children and the most vulnerable, sexual abuse, trade and exploitation”-in June falling in only 10 in June, according to the figures of the American department of the US Department of the American department.
The new figures mark a stunning decrease of 99.98% compared to the peak of the route under the Biden administration in August 2023, when more than 82,000 migrants bump through the gap in a few months.

Officials say that the joint effort scours migrants before they even start the dangerous journey.
“In Panama’s Darien gorge, migrants now return before they even reach our border -only 10 migrants crossed in June,” said DHS assistant -Secretary Tricia McLaughlin in a statement on Thursday.
“This is more than a decrease of 99.98% compared to the Biden High When 82,000 illegal alien beings are crossed in a few months. The world hears our message that the boundaries of America are closed to Lawbreakers. Thanks to President Trump and Secretary, we have the most safe boundary in American history.”

The White House emphasized that under Trump’s immigration policy, the American border patrol has not released any illegal migrant in the country in recent months.
McLaughlin added that the administration remains focused on the removal of that already in the country illegal.

The DHS has also issued a warning to immigrants without papers who currently live in the US and encourage them to voluntarily leave via the CBP Home App, a platform that offers cash stimuli to deport themselves.

“With the safeest limit in American history, DHS is aimed at deporting those who break the laws of our nation,” said DHS Thursday. “If you are illegal here, use the CBP Home app to take control of your departure and receive financial support to return home. Illegal aliens who use the CBP home app to make self-dedport also receive free journeys and an exit bonus of $ 1,000, paid after their return is confirmed by the app.”
