Ben Stiller’s basketball fandom clashed Saturday with breaking news of the shooting outside the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, leading some Republicans to question the reasoning behind one of his social media posts.

Although Stiller, like other celebrities, has expressed his displeasure with the White House by using clips of him without his permission, his post appears to be a case of unfortunate timing.
A number of basketball fans later mocked the right-wing comments, including one account from a Knicks fan who called out “complete idiots” who didn’t realize the comedian was “simply celebrating a Knicks playoff win.”
The MAGA confusion seemed Stiller, that dropped a greeting emoji in a post on the platform on Sunday morning.
He also lost weight three fire emojis in response to a post on the Knicks’ official account asking fans how they feel after the win.
