One door is marked “Truman/Reagan” and the other door is marked “Carter/Obama/Biden.”
President Donald Trump must choose one. Again. And this time, the choice will determine Trump’s place in history.
On three separate occasions, the 45th and 47th presidents of the United States have walked through the first door.
Trump ordered the killing of General Qasem Soleimani, the head of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, on January 3, 2020.
IRAN PROPOSES A MUCH MORE DANGEROUS MILITARY TEST FOR US THAN VENEZUELA, EXPERTS WARN
Trump followed that up with his second-term order to carry out Operation Midnight Resolve against Iran’s nuclear weapons facilities in June last year and again with Operation Absolute Resolve to capture Venezuelan dictator Nicholas Maduro in January this year.
President Trump bravely dared three times and won a major victory for the United States three times, gradually restoring American deterrence.
Trump needed to restore U.S. deterrence in 2020 because the Iranian regime cracked down on former President Barack Obama with the infamous 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, a plan that secured Iran billions in cash, hundreds of billions in sanctions relief and a guaranteed path to nuclear weapons. It was a surrender of the Middle East to the mullahs, disguised in dense language and absurd timelines. But the Iranian theocrats knew they had won.
TRUMP LEADERSHIP CREATES ‘RARE OPPORTUNITY’ FOR CHANGE IN IRAN, SAYS FORMER Iranian POLITICAL PRISONER
President Trump has called the JCPOA the “worst deal in history” dozens of times, and he has always been right. It was similar to the ‘Munich Agreement’ between Neville Chamberlain and Hitler. The damage to the world was enormous.
While President Joe Biden’s disastrous and chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan did not directly concern Iran, it has severely damaged America’s standing in the world and defined Biden’s presidency as one mired in catastrophic failure from the jump.
President Trump has worked to undo the damage done by the JCPOA with the attacks on Soleimani and Iran’s nuclear weapons facilities.
PROTESTS IN IRAN PRODUCE NEW TRUMP WARNING ON DEADLY GOVERNMENT LAW
Now, however, the Iranians are responding with thousands of ballistic missiles that already threaten US bases in the Middle East, Israel and our allies in the Gulf. The nature of the regime has been fully revealed even to the conciliators of Team Obama and Team Biden: the ayatollahs ordered tens of thousands of their citizens to be shot or killed with machetes in January. Does anyone doubt that they would aim their missiles at American cities once they have range? Crazy killers are going to kill, over and over again.
Thanks to Presidents Obama and Biden, Ayatollah Khamenei and his IRGC thugs believe that America always “blinks” in the end. They still don’t believe Trump is different from Obama and Biden. They see Trump’s one-day missions as brief deviations from the pattern of reconciliation between Obama and Biden. The Iranians are not afraid of Trump. Yet.
The Iranians are building huge missiles with huge nuclear warheads. There are already more than a thousand missiles in their arsenal, and they accelerated production of thousands more missiles after Trump’s attack on their nuclear weapons facilities last year.
IRAN RESPONDS TO TRUMP PRESSURE WITH WARNING OF RETALIATION: ‘FINGERS ON THE TRIGGER’
The Iranians are working to extend the range of their missiles. The Iranian missiles with the longest range can now probably reach Europe. They will threaten the US sooner or later, and we don’t have Trump’s ‘Golden Dome’ yet.
So Trump must now decide what to do with those missiles, and with the mass murderers who control Iran. Trump has ordered a massive buildup of U.S. military assets within Iran’s reach, deploying the defense systems we have to protect our bases and our allies.
Now he must decide which door to walk through.
HEGSETH SAYS WAR DEPARTMENT ‘WILL BE PREPARED TO DELIVER’ WHAT TRUMP WANTS AFTER IRAN WARNING
Truman and Reagan (and both Bushes) would order the strike.
Carter, Obama and Biden would retreat and pretend they had averted a crisis, when in fact they had decapitated American deterrence.
Rarely do we see such a stark choice presented to a president — a fork in his personal path as far as history is concerned, and very much a fork in the American path for its future.
Trump may be remembered as the man who helped the Iranian people after nearly fifty years of fanatical dictatorship and protected America from an evolving threat, or as the president who retreated more spectacularly than any president before him.

On August 26, 1990, Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher spoke with President George HW Bush about Saddam Hussein’s invasion of Iraq. “This was not the time to get shaky,” the prime minister told the president.
That was probably the least necessary encouragement ever, since the old World War II fighter pilot wasn’t the kind of guy to back down. (HW was shot down twice and returned for his missions after both.) But Thatcher’s line went down in history because it is both so very British and so very useful in many contexts.
IRAN’S FALL OR SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON ONE CHOICE WITHIN THE REVOLUTIONARY GUARD
It’s useful now. President Trump simply cannot waver, no matter how attractive the Carter/Obama/Biden door looks as an exit. In other words, Trump “can’t go for Obama.”
Once again, President Trump’s choice will determine his place in history. Everything else in his eight years will be secondary to what he will decide in the short term.
Any other performance will be of secondary importance. Any criticism will be irrelevant when the destruction of the Iranian regime’s threat to the world is on the table.

President Trump may choose to do what no other president since Jimmy Carter has dared to do: paralyze or end the fanatical regime in Iran, which is already threatening and destabilizing the Middle East every day and which could soon threaten the US if it is not stopped.
Pray that he chooses wisely. America’s national security and the hopes of the Iranian people and the future of the Middle East depend on this decision.
