For more than a decade there has been a consistent pattern for Trump’s media behavior. When Donald Trump wants to wipe bad news under the carpet or wants to change the tone of the reporting he receives, he appears on Fox News. In particular, Trump will personally appear on the two friendliest daily programs for him on the network. Trump will come to Fox and friends or sit down with his friend Sean Hannity.
In Trump’s recent appearance by Fox and Friends he tried to change the subject of Charlie Kirk, because he already knew what the rest of the country was about to find out. The person who shot Charlie Kirk was not a ‘radical left -wing democrat’, but a republican who shot Kirk, who is reportedly shot Kirk because he was not conservative enough.
It was the other piece of information that Trump slid into the conversation that was buried in the headlines that deserve more attention.
Trump announced that he would send National Guard troops to Chicago, but instead he sends them to Memphis, Tennessee.
Why Memphis? Trump dropped a big hint in the announcement.
Trump said:
We go to Memphis. Memphis is, that is the next city. Deeply worried, and the mayor is happy. He is a democrat, mayor. The mayor is happy. And the governor, Tennessee, the happy, deeply distorted by the governor. We will repair that. Just as we did Washington.
I’d rather go to Chicago.
…
But Memphis is, look, it’s a great music city. It is one, you know, the home of Elvis and everything else. But I told him, where else should we go? Where would you say? He said, sir, please do me a favor. Because St. Louis has been so bad, it is very difficult. Very, very difficult. He said: not loss Chicago. You are going to lose chicago, sir.
It is a great city. You are going to lose Chicago. And then we have this Pritzker on television every day. All he does is hit Trump.
