A new poll commissioned by Common Cause showed that Trump may have led the Republicans of Texas to a big mistake that the State’s voters have made angry. Common Cause gave a survey of more than 2,000 Texas voters who asked for Gerymandering, and the recent Republican Gerrymandering of the State of the State at the insistence of Donald Trump.
The highlights of the poll Can be bad news for Republicans:
-
An overwhelming majority of voters in Texas (74%) supports independent committees that consist of ordinary citizens to draw district lines instead of state laws. This includes support from 68% of Republican voters, 77% of independent voters and 67% of the Donald Trump voters.
Congesexperts only placed three of the five seats that republicans are probably turning to the Gop. The other two are Swing districts that Democrats can retain, so it is quite possible that the Texas Republicans are alienated the voters in the state and the five seats they have to get the map do not get.
Voters do not like gerryage. Voters do not want gerrymeering, and in Texas republicans can ultimately pay a serious price in the 2026 elections for their actions.
The Texas Graymander relies on Hispanics that continue to support Trump, but the approval classification of Trump has plummeted with Spanish voters.
The Gerryanging can be counterproductive In Texas, and if this is the case, Republicans will only blame Donald Trump.
