The government no longer has money at the end of the month, and it seems that the Gop needs democratic voters to keep the government open.
Republicans still do not have the votes or a plan to finance the government.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) has a plan and has told Don Lemon that any democratic support for a bill to keep the government open will result in costs.
Ocasio-Cortez said:
I like what Elizabeth Warren had to say about this is. You know, just before we left in August, the Republicans gave these mass cuts to Medicaid, to Medicare, to EBT, Snap and WIC Food aid. I think if they turn back those cuts, we can talk about this.
Because people really have to remember who the keys have here. Republicans have the Republicans of the House majority Republicans are in charge of the Republicans of the Senate, you know, Donald Trump is president. They are responsible for the most basic function to keep the government open. And if they don’t have the votes to do that, and if they have to come to Democrats to get our voice, I don’t think we’ll give them away for free.
And I think we use this opportunity to fight for people, and I think we are using this opportunity to get the WIC from people back, get their Snap, get their medicaid, get their medicine back, and then we can talk about fighting on an aggressive front. You have less than 30 days to finance the government.

AOC has it completely 100% correct.
