Mohegan Sun, a popular Connecticut -Casino, sues a former Universal Studios director about almost $ 2.8 million in gambling debt.
Ronald Meyer, the former president and COO of Universal Studios, co-founder of Creative Artists Agency and vice-chairman of NBCuiversal, is accused of achieving a large gambling debt.

Mohegan Sun claims in a complaint that was submitted in New London Superior Court that Meyer spent “markers” of a total of $ 5 million in November 2017, but they bounced because of “insufficient funds on the account they were drawn.” From submitting the application, the casino that Meyer made payments of a total of $ 2,217,500 said, leaving a balance of $ 2,782,500.

“The tribal is compact between the Mohegan tribe and the state of Connecticut requires that all payments for deployment in class III gaming of the tribe must be made on its reservation by cash, kasquivalent, check or credit card,” said the motion.
The motion was refused in October 2024, so the suit would continue.
The former director was reportedly entered into a payment plan with the casino under which he has made monthly payments of $ 60,000, According to Casino.orgHe said the payments stopped in September 2023. Now a judge must decide whether Meyer has taken his right to a jury rights and has agreed to enter into the agreement with Mohegan Tribal Law.

Meyer resigned from his position in 2020 in the midst of an alleged extortion attempt about an affair with actress Charlotte Kirk, according to reports. The then NBCUIVERSAL Chief Executive Jeff Shell, who was later driven out about accusations of sexual harassment, informed the company of Meyer’s departure.
