Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La) is very angry with Gov. Gavin Newsom. The Californian governor has been calling Johnson out since the shooting at school in Minnesota for offering only prayers and refuses to take some action against arms violence.
During an event where house republicans tried to launder the Epstein files for Trump, Johnson took the time to criticize Newsom with a whole series of false and inaccurate statements.

Governor Newsom has called me personally a few times and he, he shamelessly The victims of the Catholic Catholic school mock. For praying after the shooter went online and did it in writing.
I just thought it was reprehensible. It’s really sad. In response to a video by Caroline Levitt that discussed the power of prayer, in the midst of great tragedy, the Governor posted quote, these children literally pray when they were shot. Why, why would he do that? Why would you do that except that you were starving for attention?
It is abhorred. Two children were killed. More than a dozen were admitted to the hospital, and the reaction of Gavin Newsom was to grow and to condemn those who are looking for our Creator at our darkest moments. I just thought it was, I just thought it was bad. In fact, it is an indication of such an in -depth moral decline that they really only hope, is prayer, ironically.
And we are told in Scripture that to do that as people of faith. We believe in the power of prayer and intercession. It is fundamental for who we are as believers, and by the way, who we are as Americans. It is intertwined in the material of our country, our deep Jewish-Christian heritage, and it is something that we represent.
And as a leader of the state with the greatest Christian population in America. I will keep Governor Newsom and also the people of California in my prayers. And I think you should be called up and everyone who does that must be called for it.
How is it reportedly responded to anti-Christian news?
Newsom responded by quoting Scripture back to Johnson on X:
Matthew 6: 5 – “And if you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites, because they like to pray in the synagogues and on street corners to be seen by others. I really say they have their reward completely.”
Newsom has relentlessly called Johnson a hypocritical because he did not practice what he preaches, so Johnson responded to this criticism by even more arrogant, self -satisfied and high on his own self -righteous stock.
Mike Johnson seems incredibly thin skin and unable to tackle criticism, especially criticism that emphasizes how he does not go through the conversation.
Gavin Newsom is not anti-Christian or disrespectful for victims of shooting at school. Newsom stands up and demanding from leaders such as Mike Johnson, who only offer thoughts and prayers while children are shot and die.
