The long -awaited top in Alaska between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin concluded without concrete similarities, although both leaders praised the meeting as a positive way.
In the joint press event on Friday afternoon local time between Trump and Putin, the conversations were described as “extremely productive” and “constructive”, but none of the leaders would comment on which definitive progress was made.
Trump said in the conversations that he would not close a deal about Ukraine or tackle territorial concessions. Instead, he emphasized the need for a second meeting with Putin and the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zenskyy – who has refused the Kremlin chef so far.

“Many points were agreed,” said Trump. “There are one or two pretty important items, but I think they can be reached.
“Now it is really up to President Zenskyy to get it done. And I would also say the European countries, they have to participate,” he added. “And if they want that, I will be at that next meeting – they are now going to set up a meeting between President Zenskyy and President Putin and I, I think.”
Although the president also repeated a point that he made with Putin during the press conference when he said: “There is no deal until there is a deal.”

Trump would not comment on what the problems were that he and Putin agreed, nor the issues that remain controversial.
The president said that he would judge the conversation with Putin a “ten” out of ten, with regard to the apparent cordiality of the discussion – in particular he appreciated the comments of the Russian president when he claimed that he would not have invaded Ukraine if Trump had won the 2020 presidency.
Neither Putin nor Trump explained the reasoning of the Kremlin chef behind these comments.
Russian officials also praised the conversations immediately after the top, although it remains unclear how Zenskyy or NATO will respond to discussions, of which Trump said he would pass them on immediately after the press event.
Trump did not discuss how his conversations went with Zenskyy or other European leaders.
