While the debate is warming up about the delivery of assistance to Gaza, Israeli officials have again questioned the United Nations about his data, in particular to be stolen or intercepted and the number of trucks that enter the enclave from Israel.
From August 12, the UN office for project services Showed that 3,140 trucks have been intercepted on the way to their destinations since 19 May. Only 412 trucks, 11.6% of the total that was sent to the region, reached their intended location. The UN said the help was taken “either peacefully by hungry people or powerful armed actors.”
On Tuesday, an evaluation of the Israeli coordinator of government activities in the territory (COGAT) claimed that the UN figures have not taken into account the entry of approximately 6,000 extra trucks since May. Cogat said that Israel has allowed around 9,200 trucks to provide Gaza for the past three months, a figure 2.5 times higher than the approximately 3,500 trucks counted by the UN
Gaza Humanitarian Foundation: what about the auxiliary group supported by the US
“The fact that the UN presents only part of the help has misled the international community and creates a false picture of the situation that directly influences global media attention and shape the positions of international decision-makers with regard to the humanitarian situation in Gaza,” a Cogat statement seemed.

In the meantime, according to the group, the often non-) Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) supported by the US continues to show out-of-the-box auxiliary delivery mechanisms. Theft and looting have not been a problem for the GHF, which continues to deliver between one and two million meals a day through distribution sites that are protected by armed guards. GHF has provided more than 130 million meals since the start of its activities on 27 May.
“The presence of armed security is one of the reasons why GHF has been able to successfully deliver help without a single truck being looted,” notes that “in one of the most volatile and complex operational environments in the world, that safety is the only reason that food consistently reaches without the intervention of Hamas.”
Although a group of about 230 NGOs initially rejected the organization because of what they called ‘militarized distribution sites’, said Chapin Fay, spokesperson for Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, that things may change as more than 200 international organizations, ‘sent a letter to call the UN to work with us.’
“This is not the militarization of help … It is the only way to ensure that food reaches citizens. Every decision we make is led by protecting lives.”
He said: “More help is the solution for many of the problems in Gaza today” and that GHF “is willing to work with every organization that wants to help feed the people of Gaza.”
A few weeks ago, Fay toured the vast plots in Kerem Shalom Crossing, where pallets from UN help waiting for pickers. ‘I saw about a dozen [trucks] Roasting, fully loaded with dozens of pallets of food in every truck. I saw flour rot on the side of the road. There were medical supplies that had already expired. ”

Speaking with the drivers who help Gaza, he was told that they had been in the cargo space for five days who lived out of their trucks. The drivers said they tried to enter Gaza from Kerem Shalom on the fourth day, but were shot by unknown armed men in Gaza. He reported that the drivers are now in ‘fear of their lives’ and asked if GHF would offer their trucks security.
Exclusive: Whistleblower claims misconduct by the United Nations in Gaza
“Everyone who works in Gaza works under extremely dangerous circumstances … What is clear is that there are no conditions for Humanitarian or those who support them to deliver help on a scale safely, quickly and efficiently. We have consistently called to be protected and that we are able to reach people in need.
“To reach people in Gaza with starving, we need a predictable lifeline of help through all available intersections and through all available corridors. We also need the removal of the obstacles that we continue to be confronted with: delays at checkpoints; indisputable, dangerous or busy routes;”

The spokesperson did not respond to questions about the fate of help that his destination has not achieved, or about whether the fear of drivers for kidnapping, death and looting hinders the dispersion of help. The spokesperson claimed that “the UN and our partners have strict monitoring with supervision of deliveries when this is capable” and said that “we have no evidence of systematic auxiliary distribution from the UN to Hamas.”
Despite statements from the opposite, there is still the growing evidence that Hamas distracts and benefits from humanitarian aid.

The Israeli coordinator of government activities in the territories (COGAT) shared a video about X from Hamas that plundered aid packages on July 29, in which it was explained that “even when helping in Gaza – Hamas are shamelessly negatively ignoring negatively negatively.”
On August 12, Cogat showed another Video on X From armed members of Hamas who try to prevent them from targeting a World Central Kitchen -emblem to their vehicle and attracting yellow cardigans. The NGO confirmed that the vehicle was not affiliated with the organization.
While Israel blames the hunger crisis in Gaza, the UN’s own data shows.

“Intentially hinder[ing] The passage of humanitarian enlightenment, including food, to citizens in need “is a violation of the fourth treaty of Geneva. He said that Hamas violates the international covenant on economic, social and cultural rights, of which Article 11” recognizes everyone’s fundamental law to be free of hunger, “because it is” his own people. “

“What Hamas does represents an unusual, if not entirely new, kind of violation of the prohibition of” hunger of citizens as a method of warfare “. This prohibition is usually violated by an army that deliberately starved enemy citizens to put pressure on the enemy to surrender or to give positions or to distribute limited resources.
