Japan is on his way to get his first female prime minister after the leading conservative party Sanae Takaichi had chosen his new leader.
Takaichi, the former Minister of Economic Security of Japan, defeated Minister of Agriculture Shinjiro Koizumi, the son of the popular former Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, in a drain in an intraparty mood on Saturday by the ruling liberal Democratic party.
Takaichi replaces Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba while the party tries to regain public support and to stay in power.
Despite the suffering of great election losses, the liberal Democratic party remains by far the largest in the lower house and the Japanese leader determines because opposition groups are very fragmented.

In the first round of voting, Takaichi was the first to finish with 183 votes and Minister of Agriculture Shinjiro Koizumi in second place with 164. Because neither of them reached a majority in the first round, the winner was determined in an immediate two -way distance.

The LDP, whose successive losses in the parliamentary elections in the past year have left the minority in both houses, sought a leader who can quickly tackle challenges, both domestic and internationally, while seeking cooperation between important opposition groups to implement its policy.
Trump not on mood, but President Front and Center in 2025 elections
Takaichi, a hard conservative who cited former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher as her hero, has called for strengthening the Japanese army and adopted a harder attitude against China and North Korea. She also opposes same -sex marriage and retains ties with nationalist groups.

Takaichi is also confronted with a possible top with President Donald Trump, who could demand that Japan increases his defense issues. A meeting is said to be planned for the end of October. Trump will travel to the Asia-Pacific Economic together in South Korea from 31 October.

The LDP also needs help from the opposition, which has long neglected it. The party will probably want to expand its coalition with the moderate centrist Komeito with at least one of the most important opposition parties, which are more central.
A parliamentary mood is expected in mid -October.
