The head of the Israeli defense of the general staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, revealed the next phase of Israel of his war against Hamas on Sunday.
Zamir spoke with IDF soldiers on Sunday during a field tour in Gaza and said they are planning to continue with the momentum of “Operation Gideon’s Charmots.”
“Today we approved the plan for the next phase of the war. Just like in the recent operations in Iran, Yemen, Lebanon, Judea and Samaria and Gaza, we will continue to reform the safety reality,” Zamir told Battaljon leaders and others who are present on Sunday.
“We will maintain the momentum of Operation ‘Gideon’s Charmot’ while we focus on Gaza City. We will continue to strike the decisive defeat of Hamas, with the hostages always in the front in our memory,” he continued.

“Soon we will continue to the next phase of Operation ‘Gideon’s Charmots’, in which we will continue to improve the strikes against Hamas in Gaza City to the decisive defeat,” he added. “The current campaign is not a pointed point; it is just another layer in a long-term and planned strategy, with a multi-front vision to beat all components of the ashes, and in the first place Iran.”

Zamir thanked the soldiers for the months and years of service they have already performed in Gaza, and again emphasized that the return of the hostages is their highest priority.

“You have been fighting for almost two consecutive years and achieve unprecedented achievements that bring safety to the communities near the Gaza Strip and to all the citizens of Israel. I am proud of you,” he told the soldiers. “The IDF is wearing the moral duty to bring the hostages home, both alive and fallen.”
Recognizing a Palestinian state now will make future peace efforts more difficult, warn experts
The field tour of Zamir comes hardly a week after the office of the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced plans for Israel to fully take over the Gaza Strip for an indefinite period after the war.
