England’s distinctive red-white St. George’s Cross and iconic Union Jack flags make a comeback about the United Kingdom, with supporters who call the revival patriotic, while critics in the media warn that extremism shows, following Maga-like cultural wars.
The dispute about the flag is the newest symbol of the political discourse of Great Britain, with Reform UK and Nigel Farage that US President Donald Trump-Style populism calls on to collect Englishmen.
“Operation Raid the Colors” has called on people to set up their flags where they live and in their daily lives to collect British. The online movement encourages people to continue to set up England St. George’s Cross and Union Jack Flags.

“Raise the Colors!”, MP wrote for Newark, UK and Shadow Lord Chancellor Robert Jenrick on X. “While the Great Britain Hating Councils down our own flags, we raise them. We must be one country under the flag of the Union.”
Tower Hamlets and Birmingham City Council recently decided to break down English flags that were hung on the street by patriotic supporters of the movement.
The government has not taken an official position on “Operation Raise the Colors”, but Downing Street has commented on setting up flags.
“Patriotism will always be important for him,” said a spokesperson for Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
Asked if Sir Keir supports people setting up English flags, the spokesperson said: “Absolutely, patriotism, putting on English flags. We have set up English flags everywhere in Downing Street every time the English football team – ladies and gentlemen – try to win games for us.”
