President Donald Trump spoke on Monday the persistent hunger crisis in Gaza in Scotland, where he approached the urgency to immediately get food in the enclave while he did it safely and safely.
“The United States, recently, just a few weeks ago, we gave $ 60 million … No other nation gave money,” because he encouraged other countries “to perform.”
$ 30 million in American contributions to Gaza have been channeled through the US and Israeli Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.
Since the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) started its activities on 27 May, the organization has been working with local Palestinian care providers and non-governmental organizations to deliver 97 million meals to Gazans to date.

What does GHF offer the locals?
On his four distribution sites in Gaza, the boxes of help that is sufficient offers to offer 2,400 daily calories for 5.5 people of more than 3.5 days. The GHF sites can on average distribute a total of 2 million meals per day.
Fay said that GHF also started a potato pilot program in which “hundreds of tons of potatoes” were delivered in Gaza.

Another new pilot program in collaboration with the local Gazan NGO Al-Amal has enabled GHF to deliver 2,000 boxes of food to families in Gaza. Fay said that GHF is scaling up the operation, by investigating hundreds of questions since the announcement of the program and working on setting up extra local NGO partnerships.
Attacking on the GHF help model
The UN has accused the distributions of GHF in the GHF, with the United Nations Commissioner-General General of Relief and Works (UNRWA) Philippe Lazparini who calls the organization a “horror” that “offers nothing but hunger and gunfire to the people of Gaza.”

Although media headlines are fat with accusations of violence on GHF sites, Fay said that the reality of GHF distributions “is almost the opposite of what you read, what you see on TV.”

Although he admitted that “there is some chaos when thousands of desperate, hungry people try to get help,” he claims that only two violent incidents have happened at GHF distributions. A rush and a grenade attack that damaged two American experienced employees were “terrorist attacks advanced by Hamas,” he said.
The UN and many NGOs have also opposed the use of GHF of armed security to protect help seekers. UN -Data, however, it appears that only 8% of the UN assistance had reached their destination without being looted in the past 10 weeks, according to a report from Reuters.
Fay says that GHF is ready and willing to offer security support for UN assistance. “We have to stop pretending that there is only one way to get help in Gaza,” he explained.

GHFs adjustments and improvements on the ground
While GHF continues to help Gazans, Fay says that the organization has “adjust[ed] In a dynamic environment, and our distributions seem to go more smoothly every day. ”

New adjustments include a red light system to indicate whether distribution sites are open and a suggestion of help seekers. GHF has also added more plank -stable onions to his auxiliary boxes.

Fay said that employees also mean some help to ensure that women and children receive the necessary help. Because of this change, Fay says that he recently saw “women leave and smile at our staff with their onions on their way home.”
GHF will deliver its 100 millionth meal to Gazans later this week.
