Sen. Chris Murphy D-Conn. was forced to humiliate himself on television this week by explaining away presumptive Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner’s Nazi tattoo as the result of some form of PTSD and arguing that people deserve second chances.
We’ve been hearing this kind of thing a lot lately from Democrats, whether it’s podcaster Hasan Piker’s belief that America deserved 9/11 or Rep. Ilhan Omar’s continued Marxist ranting against the nation that took her in when she fled Somalia.
The Democrats have created a Hydra of far-left figures to lead the populist movement that is taking over the party, just as the populist MAGA movement has come to dominate the Republican Party over the past decade.

The key difference here is that Trump’s populism is centered around one leader: Trump himself. What makes this new Marxist populist movement a Hydra is that it does not have a single leader. It is a creature with many heads, and cutting one off, like disgraced former Rep. Eric Swalwell, for example, does little harm to the creature as a whole.
DAVID MARCUS: THE 3 ISSUES DRIVING THE FAR LEFT’S SPLIT WITH DEMS
This idea of decentralized power, or at least the appearance of it, on the American progressive left dates back at least to 2011’s Occupy Wall Street, which famously had no formal leaders, but rather a collectivist “general assembly.”
Likewise, Antifa, the leftists’ paramilitary wing, also eschews normal leadership structures, allowing feckless Democrats to claim the organization is some kind of myth while their violent acts continue.
Although the snake that is modern American Marxism has many heads, all the way from Alexandria to Zorhan, this does not mean that there is no central power and central financing behind it, even if that dark source of power is invisible to most of us.

Pretty funny for a protest titled “Workers vs. Billionaires.”
What the “establishment” Democrats of yesteryear realize is that they are being made irrelevant by this Marxist, billionaire-funded zeitgeist, and all they can do is nod along, make lame excuses, and try to white-knuckle power.
DEMOCRATS HAVE LIGHTED THE FIRE OF SOCIALISM. NOW THEY ARE AFRAID IT WILL BURN THEM
The “mainstream” Dems created, or at least fueled, this monster, and now they have no control over it.
They wanted angry shock troops on the streets to soften their opponents, so they joined these radical organizations.
They defended them and probably even funneled money to them through their non-profit/NGO money laundering fraud. But now communist mayors and fearsome AOC Democratic leaders like Senator Chuck Schumer and Representative Hakeem Jeffries are popping up everywhere.
VIRGINIA BAIT AND SWITCH: SPANBERGER RELAX THE DEMS’ REAL, RADICAL AGENDA
The reason so many normal Americans are baffled by the increasingly unhinged rhetoric and tattoos of radical left politicians and podcasters is that Democrats can always insist that this is just the fringe, but that’s not true anymore: Marxism has become the Democrats’ entire magic carpet.
But what about Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger, who won last year as a ‘moderate?’ I hear Democratic establishment apologists bray.
She’s actually a perfect example of this point. After promising not to, she caved to the far left on radical redistribution and a slew of left-wing taxes.
DAVID MARCUS: UNTIL 2025 DEMOCRATS THE EXTREMIST IS FETTERMAN, NOT MAMDANI
You see, even when the Democrats elect a so-called moderate, the Marxist far left looks that politician in the eye, points at them and tells them, “We’re in charge now.”
To defeat the Hydra in Greek mythology, it wasn’t enough for Hercules to cut off the foul beast’s heads, as they simply grew back. Instead, each wound had to be cauterized to ensure no new head emerged.
The lesson here for Republicans, and for any Democrats other than Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., who might oppose Marxism and Nazi tattoos, is that targeting these individual radicals, the way the left continually targets Trump, won’t work.
No, the deeper wounds need to be addressed, the universities that pump out good little communists, the high schools that send our kids out to protest instead of learning to read and the media that will support any evil as long as it hurts Donald Trump.

If the Democrats can’t get control of this, which seems like a long shot at this point, then it won’t matter even if a Kamala Harris or some other so-called moderate candidate is the nominee in 2028. Like Sleepy Joe Biden, they will simply oversee the court packing, the further socialization of healthcare, and the arrests over right-wing social media posts.
On America’s 250th birthday, we have more Marxists in positions of power than ever in our country’s history. It makes the Red Scares of the 1920s and 1950s seem strange. But it is not too late to save our country, if we can only find a way to defeat the communist Hydra.
