According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Mercedes-Benz is recalling more than 24,000 vehicles due to a problem with the driveshaft universal joint, which can fail unexpectedly.
The recall affects several Mercedes models, as documents shared by the NHTSA say a broken connection can lead to a loss of power, which can increase the risk of a car accident.
According to the documents, a total of 24,092 cars were affected, ranging from models released between 2018 and 2020, while the share of vehicles with the defect is estimated at 100% of the recalled vehicles.

Dealers are being notified of the recall and will inspect the driveshaft universal joint. The brand will also send notification letters to vehicle owners who may be affected by the recall by June 2, 2026, the company said. NHTSA.
The agency also reported last week that more than 422,000 Ford vehicles are being recalled in the U.S. due to a defective windshield wiper.
According to NHTSA, windshield wiper arms can operate erratically or break, causing wiper failure.
The 2021-2023 model year Lincoln Navigator, 2021-2023 Ford Expedition and 2022-2023 Ford Super Duty are some of the specific vehicles that may be directly affected by the recall.

“The wiper arm locking plate may have been improperly secured at the supplier. The locking plate ensures that the arm head is properly seated on the wiper arm. In addition, the engagement between the knurled edge and the wiper arm may be reduced due to dimensional variability. Proper engagement of the knurl-to-arm head teeth ensures robust wiper arm operation,” the agency said.
