The American Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday that it had carried out ten attacks on more than thirty soldiers ISIS has attacked targets in Syria in recent days as part of a concerted military effort to “sustain relentless military pressure on remnants of the terrorist network.”
CENTCOM said that from February 3 to 12, its forces “attacked ISIS infrastructure and weapons storage targets with precision munitions delivered by fixed-wing, rotary-wing and unmanned aerial vehicles.”
Recently, CENTCOM forces carried out five attacks on an ISIS communications site, a crucial logistics hub and weapons storage facilities in Syria between January 27 and February 2.

“Attacking these targets demonstrates our continued focus and determination in preventing a resurgence of ISIS in Syria,” Admiral Brad Cooper, CENTCOM commander, said in a statement at the time.
“Operating in coordination with coalition and partner forces to ensure the lasting defeat of ISIS makes America, the region, and the world safer.”

On January 27, President Trump told reporters that he had a “great conversation with the highly respected” President of Syria, Ahmed al-Sharaa.

“All the things related to Syria in that area are working out very, very well,” President Trump said. “So we’re very happy with it.”
The Operation Hawkeye Strike mission was launched in response to an ISIS ambush attack that killed two U.S. service members and an American interpreter in Palmyra, Syria, on December 13, 2025.

“More than 50 ISIS terrorists have been killed or captured and more than 100 ISIS infrastructure targets have been hit with hundreds of precision munitions during two months of targeted operations,” CENTCOM said.

On Thursday, CENTCOM announced it had completed the withdrawal of US forces from the al-Tanf garrison in Syria, signaling a broader shift in US posture in the region.

Operation Inherent Resolve was launched in 2014 to combat ISIS, with U.S. forces maintaining a limited presence to support partner forces and prevent ISIS from returning after it was territorially defeated in 2019.
