FIRST ON FOX: Amid the recent start of phase two of the US-brokered ceasefire between Hamas and the Jewish state, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) allege that Hamas has violated the deal by misusing ambulances, hospitals and schools to regain control of the northern Gaza Strip.

The first phase of the agreement required Hamas to return all hostages held in Gaza. The second core part concerns the disarmament of Hamas, the terrorist movement designated by the US and the EU.
The yellow line separates IDF-controlled territory in Gaza, which is estimated at 53%, from the enclave area not under Israeli control.
“Hamas has returned to schools, hospitals and kindergartens, turning them into military bases. A Hamas commander is in charge of every school in Jabalia in northern Gaza,” the IDF official claimed.
They continued: “We have seen Hamas with Kalashnikovs and in recent weeks Hamas has used ambulances. We have monitored in recent weeks Hamas using ambulances to carry out checks. Jabalia. It’s a big change. We see Hamas’ confidence in using ambulances. It is a symbol of Hamas gaining confidence and rebuilding itself, a sign of a possible attack on our bases in the future.”

The official said: “In the Jabalia refugee camp, there are still functioning tunnels. We are working to destroy tunnels within the Yellow Line and are at an advanced stage of clearing tunnels.”

The IDF announced that as part of the ceasefire and in accordance with the directives of the political echelon, IDF forces under the Southern Command have begun marking the Yellow Line in the Gaza Strip to achieve tactical clarity on the ground. (IDF)
Shortly before the ceasefire took effect in October 2025, the IDF showed international reporters a Hamas terrorist tunnel next to the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza City. The IDF said Hamas terrorists were in hospital and that Jordanian medical personnel were working with Hamas. The state of Jordan denied ties to Hamas in its field hospital.
The IDF official said: “In the Yemen Al-Saeed Hospital, a Hamas commander with the rank of lieutenant colonel controls the hospital. We have informed the Americans. The IDF’s freedom of action is limited. Hamas is violating the ceasefire. We have images of the Yemen Al-Saeed Hospital that we saw before October 7. Hamas is placing civilians in the hospital. The ambulance with Hamas goes through a major intersection.”
Hamas invaded parts of southern Israel on October 7, 2023, killing more than 1,200 people and kidnapping more than 250.

The IDF official, along with many U.S. and Israeli counterterrorism officials, has raised major doubts about the possibility of disarming one of the world’s worst and most ideologically committed Islamist terrorist movements.
Hamas officials have emphasized over the past week and since the ceasefire began that the country will not disarm. Senior Hamas official Moussa Abu Marzouk told Qatari government-controlled Al-Jazeera last week that the Hamas agreement to abandon its weapons “never happened, at no point did we discuss the surrender of weapons, or any formula about destruction, surrender or disarmament.”

The IDF official said: “There is a lot of belief in phase two and it will also include the disarmament of Hamas. I am very pessimistic on this issue. Hamas will not give away its weapons, but it will put on a show. Hamas could make civilians give away weapons. How good the show is will be the question.” The official added: “We have indications from the ground level that there is no process of complete disarmament by Hamas. We have information that Hamas operatives know that no complete disarmament is planned.”
