The murder of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Saturday morning, and the misinformation spread by Greg Bovino, Kristi Noem and others in the administration are having a crushing impact on the second Trump administration.
After the shooting, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem claimed Pretti brandished a gun at Border Patrol agents. Pretti was called a murderer and it was alleged that he wanted to massacre federal law enforcement.
It was the same insult to a victim that the government continued after the murder of Renee Good, also in Minneapolis, a few weeks earlier. What was different about Pretti’s murder was the immediate spread of videos that contradicted the government’s narrative.
The White House’s emphasis on blaming the gun has done just that angry Republicans in Congress and conservative Second Amendment activists.
The fallout has resulted in Democrats are demanding that Noem be fired immediately or warn she could face impeachment. Bovino, who repeatedly went on television and repeated lies about Pretti, has been expelled from Minneapolis, demoted and will soon retire.
Trump claimed he will oversee Homeland Security’s Pretti investigation, which appears to be an attempted cover-upand Stephen Miller was described as increasingly isolated as others in the government view his immigration policies as a political liability.
It looks like the White House knives are out to get Miller, and the latest leak is causing him big trouble.
