It is a brutally honest fact that Trump, at age 80, does not travel well. There’s a reason why he appears less and less on the world stage, and his travels become shorter as he gets older.
Trump shows his age and decline even more when he travels.
The wisdom of letting Trump wander around the White House briefing room for hours on Tuesday and then putting him on a plane and sending him to Switzerland on Wednesday should be questioned.
Trump thinks he is a titan who makes the world shake when he speaks, but the reality was laid bare at Davos.
Trump said:
We’re going to help the people of California. I know Gavin was here. I got along so well with Gavin when I was president. I think Gavin is a good guy and if he needed it, I would do it in a heartbeat. I’d like to see it. We helped them a lot in Los Angeles, a lot with the beginning, the beginning of my tenure, when they were having some problems.
But we would love to do it. I would say this if I were a Democratic governor or whatever. I would call Trump. I would say come in, make us look good, because we reduce crime to nothing and we take out people, career criminals who are only going to do bad things, and we bring them back to their country.
But where we’ve done it, it’s been amazing, and we have the ability to do it at much greater levels. We are depriving illegal aliens of welfare and other government benefits that I have ordered to begin immediately. There will be no more payments to sanctuary cities, because they are really just sanctuaries for criminals.
They really protect criminals, and those are the ones we need to catch among the unfair murders, drug dealers, the mentally ill, they’ve emptied their mental institutions in the United States, and despite that we have the lowest crime rates we’ve ever had in the history of the country. Just came out.
The camera panned to Governor Newsom, who was sitting very quietly in Davos, and you saw him laughing at Trump.
