With the Kennedy Center now largely empty thanks to the current president, Donald Trump held the House of Representatives Republican retreat at the desecrated living monument to former President John F. Kennedy, and during his remarks where even Trump, in a moment of clarity, found himself rambling incoherently or what he calls “weaving,” attempted to rally Republican troops as they were marched into what appears to be a carnage during the House of Representatives midterm elections.
Trump rambled for hours as Republicans in the House of Representatives sat in silence.
Here’s just a taste of what the crazy president had to say:
I said, uh, so you’re going to do it, Emmanuel? No. He said, okay, here’s the story, Emmanuel. If you haven’t agreed to everything we want by Monday, I’ll put a 25% tariff on everything coming from France, including your wines, your champagnes and everything else. No, no, no, no. You can’t do that. I said, I can do that, and I will even do that for national security.
I will, but this is for medical safety. 100%. Now let me explain. The rate I charge you is 42 times more expensive than what I ask in return. So you can add a 25% tariff to you like I did with China for Fentanyl. I imposed a 20% penalty tax on China, but it is drying up because the tax is much higher than what they make from fentanyl.
But I said to the other countries: you are going to do it. And you know what? He said, you can’t do that to me. I said, “Yes, I can. Don’t worry about it. It won’t be that bad. You just have to explain it to your people. Your 39 million people, who don’t vote by mail, by the way. They vote on paper ballots.
They tried to vote by mail and there was fraud happening all over the country. We are the only country that votes primarily by mail. You know that, right? You know, speaker, that’s different. We are the only country stupid enough to vote by mail. Even Jimmy Carter’s committee said don’t do it. But just to wrap up, just so you don’t say he’s wandering off.
Emmanuel said to me: do everything, uh, you have a deal. I would like to increase the prices of my prescription drugs by 200% or whatever. I would be happy to do it if he were to receive such an honor. Whatever you want, Donald, please don’t tell the public. Please, Donald. I choose you from every country.
