I went to England on a history holiday. It became an archaeological expedition, uncovering the bones of a once great civilization.
All the tourist attractions are still there. You can still see the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, remember the “V” for victory in the Churchill War Rooms or be inspired to pray in Westminster Abbey. But those are just historical artifacts, like the pyramids of Egypt or the Acropolis in Greece. The ideals and most of the people who believe in them are long gone.
I was in London less than 24 hours before a terror attack killed two people in a synagogue in Manchester. Police also killed the terrorist, a Syrian-born, 35-year-old immigrant named Jihad Al-Shamie, who they said had pledged himself to ISIS. Two innocent Jewish people are dead and a walking, talking metaphor was the cause. Jewish citizens admitted the attack was shocking but not surprising given the rise of anti-Semitism in England.

Two days later, thousands of ‘pro-Palestinians’ held a protest around Trafalgar Square. I watched the police arrest some radicals as the crowd chanted “Free Palestine.” British Prime Minister Keir Starmer urged everyone not to protest on the 7th anniversary of the attack on Israel, saying it was “un-British”. Unfortunately, it’s all too British these days. Britain has imported millions of people who have no loyalty to its nation or its beliefs. They brought with them a hatred of the Jewish people as well as Western civilization.
TRUMP GUARANTEED PEACE AND A FUTURE WHERE OTHERS SPOKE ALONE
On October 11, hundreds of thousands of “pro-Palestinian” protesters marched in London, closing streets and businesses. Even the ceasefire in Gaza did not satisfy them. It’s Starmer’s fault. He recognized a Palestinian state, rewarded Hamas for its barbaric attack on Israel and encouraged the demonstrators.
Now the government has to try to look good. It told universities that they needed to “take stronger action to protect Jewish students,” according to Reuters. But according to a new YouGov poll, one in five Britons hold anti-Semitic views. The message to Jews in England is disturbingly similar to that in Germany in the 1930s: get out while you still can.
That’s just one aspect of the failed British state. Some Britons understand that their history and culture have been stolen from them, but are so afraid of their government that they are unwilling or unable to do anything about it. One resident I met was afraid to even fly the British flag for fear of arrest. The same person called England a “tinderbox” that could lead to civil war.
Those feelings are not surprising. A member of the Labor Party of the British Parliament, Jeevun Sandler, came out on October 12 and urged Britain to remove its flag from lampposts because it was seen as “unwelcoming” to immigrants. A local politician was investigated by police after she said she was ‘born and raised here’. And a recent study from the University of Leicester’s Center for Hate Studies complains that rural England is ‘overwhelmingly white’ and in need of ‘inclusion’.
HOW TRUMP’S RUMPLESS GAMBLE IN THE MIDDLE EAST FINALLY TURNED THE SCRIPT
It’s not just politics. A truly majestic monument to Christianity and Western civilization, Canterbury Cathedral was transformed into a venue for a graffiti-style art demonstration of England’s decline and fall. Christianity Today explains it as an “art exhibition titled ‘Hear Us,’ featuring temporary graffiti stickers plastered on the stone pillars of Canterbury that aims to highlight minorities while asking challenging questions of God.” Artist Alex Vellis describes himself as “an agender goblin thing.” Exactly the person you would choose to decorate one of the most famous religious sites in the world.

What Vellis did is not art. It’s desecration. Thank God I saw the cathedral just before this betrayal.
Major institutions embraced the debt complex that is causing all this. It is common for tour guides, museum staff and educators to fill their conversations with left-wing talking points about climate change and immigration. Many historical places I visited were quick to demonize British history. Explorer and privateer Sir Francis Drake, who heroically defended England against the Spanish armada, is labeled a slave trader in the maritime museum he helped inspire.

British media is even worse. The BBC is almost laughably left-wing. It combined discussions of the terror attack in Manchester with the typical refrain of ‘but Israel’. Other outlets weren’t as bad, but that’s not saying much. Even commercials reveal the built-in biases. I have seen at least 13 UNICEF UK adverts on my television. Nine were about providing aid to Gaza, one other was about Yemen. There were no ads about helping Christians being murdered in Africa. Or even helping Muslims in China or Myanmar, where they are also persecuted. Of course they are not fighting Israel in those locations.
Starmer’s many failures make him deeply unpopular and the Reform Party is riding high in the polls and looks set to win future elections. The British response is to take even tougher action. Instead of defending its own history and culture, the government is waging war against them. Already, 12,000 people are arrested every year because of what they say online.
British politician and journalist Daniel Hannan summarized these problems by asking: “Why are so many British leaders anti-British?”

These problems are already present here in America, they simply have not yet taken root as strongly. England is perhaps ten to twenty years ahead of us. It can serve as a warning or a glimpse into our inevitable decline. Our campuses are filled with indoctrinated young people, ignorant of history, eager to carry the banner that will tear down America and the West. It doesn’t matter if it’s the flag of communism or Hamas.
There are those in England who have not yet given up. But the fear is that it is too late. And when you look around England, it’s hard to think otherwise. It is not too late for America.
