I am critical of President Donald Trump. But I share a strong conviction with two-thirds of the Trump voters: we agree that Republicans in Washington should stop trying to try to make affordable care act (ACA) that would make premiums double and take the health care of millions.
My source for that is Trump’s own poll star, Tony Fabrizio, who has posted his data Online as a warning for Republican candidates who run in the midterms of 2026. Fabrizio wrote that “almost eight-in-ten voters support ACA tax credits that republicans are about to end, including” more than two-thirds of Trump voters and three-quarters of Swing voters. “
Fabrizios figures have been Back -up Due to a growing wave of non -party -bound polls. And the Wall Street Journal report That behind the scenes, advisers of the White House, are concerned that they lose the shutdown debate because of this fight in health care.
Trump turns his Shutdown approach and lets the congress take the heat
Those advisers are correct and there are more and more signs that the president knows this. In recent days he wants to talk about everything But He reproduced the closure, even if it is a judge, before breaking the law.
The bottom line is that Americans cannot afford to go up their premiums and politics, Republicans cannot afford any other broken economic promise to everyday Americans. In a CBS News/Yougov survey, a majority says that Trump makes them worse.
This means that it is in the best interest in the American people and in the best interest of Trump’s approval classification for the president to admit that he has had this wrong, goes back to Democrats and end his own voters and his closure of healthcare.
This is what Trump wants to do to reform the federal government during the closure
Whatever their political views are, I don’t know any American who thinks actions are less important than words. In 2024, the Republican candidate Donald Trump campaigned on popular promises, but his record broke them – one after the other.
He promised lower costs on “day one” and promised that inflation would “disappear”. At the Republican National Convention said“I make this promise to the great people of America. I will immediately end the devastating inflation crisis.” But his rates, legislation and chaotic executive actions have increased costs and inflation. Trump promised to reduce the national debt, but his tax benefits for the rich grow it by $ 3.4 trillion – the costs are pushing even higher. He promised lower energy bills, but his clean energy cuts increase them.
Trump breaks ‘day one’ promise to lower the costs as prices rise in the first six months throughout America
What all those broken promises have in common is that working people are thrown under the bus, so that billionaires and the well -connected special treatment can receive. Americans from the middle class are consistently sold out to the corrupt establishment that was led against Trump. The rates, the new debt and the energy treatments are all associated with tax welfare for powerful allies of the president -billionaires, hedge fund managers, pharmaceutical and social media leaders and private jet owners.
Healthcare is no different.

In 2024, Trump Guaranteed us that he would lower health care costs. But the characteristic law of the Republicans, the ‘One, Big, Beautiful Bill Act’, broke that promise by making the deepest Medicaid cuts in history. Instead, the funds went to tax cuts for the rich. And the toll of that decision is already felt throughout the country, especially in rural hospitals.

Now the most important argument between Republicans and Democrats during the closure of the government is about popular ACA tax credits that have fewer than one hundredth as much as Trump’s fiscal giveaway actions for the rich. As mentioned above, Democrats, and a large majority of Trump voters, want to protect tax credits for healthcare.

But instead of listening to the men and women who sent him to the White House, Trump rejected the offers from Congresdemocrats to negotiate for months. In September he went on “Fox & Friends” and insisted Republicans in the congress: “Don’t even deal with it [Democrats]”About government financing.”
That attitude was the opposite of what Trump had earlier said: “If there is a closure, I think it would be a huge negative figure for the president of the United States. He is the one who has to bring people together.”
Instead of ‘bringing people together’, he kept people apart. Now he is responsible for a closure of the government and he has announced that he deliberately makes it as painful as possible for everyday Americans, so far that it is postponed considerable infrastructure projects that the American economy needs.

In one fell swoop for the Republican Gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli of New Jersey, Trump focused on the Gateway Hudson Tunnel. But at the same time, Trump’s team confirmed that the construction of its unnecessary, wasting White House Ballroom Will continue. Again, the voters promised to fight Trump for Get Shafted, while billionaires remain isolated.
We all earn better.
