The best diplomat of Israel at the United Nations dismissed delegates who walked away from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and destroyed the international body for holding important Middle East interviews during a Jewish vacation, leaving the delegation of Jerusalem without representation.
He noted that Netanyahu was the first speaker of the day, which means that the diplomats that stormed out of the hall only came to participate in the strike.
“I said to them,” Go out and don’t come back, “and I meant. If they can’t listen to the words of the prime minister who represents Israel and the Jewish people, I don’t think they have a place in this hall,” he said.

Danon added that most delegations remained in the room and respected both Netanyahu and the state of Israel.
Netanyahu may have spoken with a smaller audience in the hall, but his address was broadcast on speakers in Gaza and on mobile phones from Gazans, something that the prime minister revealed on stage. Danon said that the prime minister would often consider how the message and the “brilliant idea” to broadcast it, so that the Palestinians could hear that his speech was an extension of it.
Danon also regretted that the non -planned important conversations in the middle -old during the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah.

Danon said that he spoke with the UN Security Council’s head about rearranging the discussion, but was not successful to change the date. It is unclear which delegation was at the helm of the council, because it rotates this monthly.
Although Israel was unable to participate in conversations during Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, it remained one of the central issues of the 80th session of the general meeting of the UN. Israel was also confronted with pressure outside official UN discussions, with various delegations that move to recognize a Palestinian state.
Danon rejected the statements of France, Australia, the United Kingdom and Canada who recognized the Palestinian state as ’empty’.
“We spoke with many delegations. Without naming names, we had successes that some countries did not come to this circus, those empty statements, and we are grateful for that,” said Danon. He added that he believes that “in general everyone knows that it is not going anywhere.”

When asked why some delegations were so planning to be recognition, he raised it to leaders who needed domestic victories and the use of the middle conflict to galvanize supporters.
“I think they have domestic interests. Take President Macron, for example. He has so many domestic problems and problems with the economy, with immigration, with parliament. So it is easier for him to come to the UN and pretend that he actually leads something. He knows better than that,” said Danon.

On Monday, after a meeting with President Donald Trump in the White House, Netanyahu accepted a Gaza deal supported by the US to end the almost two-year war. French President Emmanuel Macron, who recognized a Palestinian state last week, said he welcomed the plan and expected Israel to “resolutely go on this basis”. He added that “Hamas has no choice but to release all hostages immediately and to follow this plan.”
It is still to be seen whether Hamas will accept the deal and, if this is the case, whether it will adhere to the conditions.
